Sebastian Junger
1998
Recreates the last days of the six men who disappeared from their boat, 'Andrea Gail', during the so-called 'Halloween' gale off the coast of Gloucester, USA. in 1991.
This book really took me on a wild ride, reckon it's one of those true stories that hits you hard. Junger's got a knack for making you feel like you're right there in the thick of it with the crew of the Andrea Gail. It's a tale of survival, grit, and the raw power of nature. I ain't much for sailing, but this one made me appreciate the sheer guts it takes to face down a storm like that. It's a real eye-opener about the respect you gotta have for the ocean.
