This book was a fascinating blend of historical fiction and speculative science. The concept of using targeted magic to alter historical events was both intriguing and thought-provoking. The narrative structure, which alternates between the modern-day protagonists and their historical missions, kept me engaged throughout. However, the pacing in some sections felt a bit uneven, and the character development could have been more nuanced. Nonetheless, the exploration of ethical dilemmas in time travel and the impact of small changes on history was compelling.
