Winner of the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, this film is a hilarious and affectionate look at the path to stardom inside the competitive world of opera.
An unexpected venture into the world of classical music. While not my usual fare, the interplay between ambition and the grit of everyday life in the San Francisco Opera resonated with me. Spielberg's meticulous direction and the authenticity of the performances added a layer of realism that I appreciated. It's a departure from the typical crime and investigation narratives, yet it managed to hold my attention through its compelling portrayal of human passion and struggle. The attention to detail in the opera sequences was particularly impressive.
