Otoño 2015. Dos socorristas, Oscar y Gerard, viajan hasta Lesbos (Grecia) impactados por la fotografía de un niño ahogado en las aguas del Mediterráneo. Al llegar descubren una realidad sobrecogedora: miles de personas arriesgan su vida cada día cruzando el mar en precarias embarcaciones y huyendo de conflictos armados. Sin embargo, nadie ejerce labores de rescate. Junto a Esther, Nico y otros miembros del equipo, lucharán por cumplir un cometido, dando apoyo a personas que lo necesitan. Para todos ellos, este viaje inicial supondrá una odisea que cambiará sus vidas.
In the midst of crafting a new piece, I found 'Mediterráneo' to be a soothing yet stirring watch. The film beautifully captures the humanity and challenges faced by those aiding refugees, a theme that resonates deeply with my own experiences of balancing motherhood, craft, and the universal quest for sanctuary. The portrayal of camaraderie and resilience felt like a natural extension of the community I strive to cultivate through my work. The Mediterranean setting added a comforting familiarity, while the narrative's urgency prompted a reflection on the power of collective action and empathy. A transformative watch that I rate a 4 for its emotional depth and spiritual authenticity.
