I was really drawn to this cyberpunk series given my fascination with consciousness and identity themes, but I found myself somewhat disappointed by the execution. While the premise of transferring consciousness between bodies is absolutely compelling and the visual design captured that gritty cyberpunk aesthetic I love, the storytelling felt muddled at times. The philosophical questions about what makes us human were there, but they got lost in convoluted plotting and excessive violence that didn't always serve the deeper themes.

That said, Joel Kinnaman delivered a solid performance navigating the complexities of inhabiting someone else's body, and there were genuinely thought-provoking moments about mortality and identity. The production values were impressive and you can see they invested in creating that dark, tech-noir atmosphere. It's worth watching for fans of the genre, but it falls short of the focused brilliance of films like Ex Machina in exploring these profound concepts.
