This film delivered exactly the kind of intimate, philosophical sci-fi experience I crave. The premise of an AI raising a human child in an underground bunker sounds simple, but the psychological complexity that unfolds is remarkable. Clara Rugaard's performance as the sheltered teenager was incredibly nuanced, and Hilary Swank brought such intensity when she arrived to disrupt their isolated world. The AI character, Mother, was both nurturing and deeply unsettling - perfectly embodying those questions about artificial consciousness that fascinate me.

What really impressed me was how the film built tension through dialogue and revelation rather than action sequences. The production design created this claustrophobic atmosphere that made every revelation feel more impactful. By the end, I found myself questioning everything I thought I knew about the characters' motivations, much like how Ex Machina kept me guessing. This is the kind of thoughtful, mind-bending sci-fi that proves you don't need a massive budget to explore profound questions about humanity and artificial intelligence.
