A frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.
I reckon I've found a new favorite in The Revenant. DiCaprio's performance hit the spot; it was raw and gritty, just like the bear attack scene. The wilderness looked so real, it felt like I was right there in the snow with 'em. This ain't just another action flick; it's got depth and it shows the real struggle of survival. It tugged at my heartstrings, but in a good way. The pacing was spot-on and didn't drag one bit.
This here's a gritty, hard-hitting tale of survival and revenge. DiCaprio's performance was top-notch, reckon he gave it his all. The scenery was something else, made you feel like you were right there in the wild with him. The pace was slow, but it fit the story well. A real test of endurance, just like the character.
